Movies: Monsters Inc (Disney)

A little scary for the little ones, but we learned some important lessons about fear.  Every time we fear anything except The Lord God, we give power and energy to the devil.

1 Peter 5:8 (NIV)
8 Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.

The devil has no power unless he draws you away from God (This is called Sin).  Once you’ve left your Creator and are all alone, he has the right to hurt you.  One of the ways he does this is through fear.  He wants to get you to fear the things of this world because it draws you away from faith in The Words of the Living God.

Hebrews 4:12 (NKJV)
12 For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

God’s Words (Promises) will lead you to faith in Him.  What He has done for us leads us to know His Love and Power and Promises.  His ultimate Love was expressed to humanity by the sacrifice of His Son Jesus Christ.  Remembering This love will bring our minds and thoughts to Perfect Love for He has loved us perfectly.

1 John 4:18 (NKJV)
18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.

If we don’t have His words of Love is us, than the result leads to fearing this world.  And when we fear this world, the devils and his monsters will strengthened.

Story Time: Caps For Sale

Our Children like the people of the world are like the little monkey’s in this story:  They often copy what others say and do.  If we act mean, the little monkeys will act mean.  If we act selfish, the little children will learn to act selfish.  If we blame the world, the world will blame us.  It is very important for all of us to teach others by example.  Jesus said to love other like we want to be loved…treat others like we want to be treated.   If we shake our fingers with anger at another, we should not be surprised if they shake their little monkey fingers back at us and say…tsz, tsz, tsz, tsz.

1 Peter 5:3 ESV

Not domineering over those in your charge, but being examples to the flock.

Story Book: I Was Walking Down The Road

Sometimes when we have to listen to our boss, parents, or other authorities, It can feel as though we are caged up in life and have little freedom.  This can lead to sadness and discouragement.  But God allows this so we can grow our faith muscle and remember what He promised us in His Word….HE (HAS AND) WILL SET US FREE.  Israel was under slavery under the bondage of Egypt in the book of Exodus.  Like the little girl in the story, The Lord God led them there to test them and to grow as a family.  However, they felt like they were trapped like a toad in a cage.  In that dark hour they just needed to remember what God promised He would do…..SET THEM FREE. With the help of Moses, God did just what He promised and.  The Israelites could have spent every moment in their cage looking forward to the day of their freedom.  All the fears and complaints didn’t help at all and just made their moments in jail feel a lot longer.

Exodus 6:6 (NIV)
6 “Therefore, say to the Israelites: ‘I am the Lord, and I will bring you out from under the yoke of the Egyptians. I will free you from being slaves to them, and I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with mighty acts of judgment.

And just like Egypt, the sacrifice and blood of His Son Jesus Christ has set us free from the bondage and cage of fear, doubt, confusion, works, oppression, guilt and more.

Galatians 5:1

It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.

John 8:32
Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

John 8:36
So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.

2 Corinthians 3:17
Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.

Nap Time Story: The lone children and the snakes

Dad’s Improvisational Nap time Story of “the children”

If we fail to be there to raise our children, then the snakes and the wolves will gladly fill in the gaps for you.  So be like the lions and keep the hyenas out of the pride.

Proverbs 29:15 ESV

The rod and reproof give wisdom, but a child left to himself brings shame to his mother.

David plays his harp to soothe King Saul

1Sam. 16 (15-23)

15 Saul’s attendants said to him, “See, an evil spirit from God is tormenting you. 16Let our lord command his servants here to search for someone who can play the harp. He will play when the evil spirit from God comes upon you, and you will feel better.” 17So Saul said to his attendants, “Find someone who plays well and bring him to me.” 18One of the servants answered, “I have seen a son of Jesse of Bethlehem who knows how to play the harp. He is a brave man and a warrior. He speaks well and is a fine-looking man. And the LORD is with him.” 19Then Saul sent messengers to Jesse and said, “Send me your son David, who is with the sheep.” 20So Jesse took a donkey loaded with bread, a skin of wine and a young goat and sent them with his son David to Saul. 21David came to Saul and entered his service. Saul liked him very much, and David became one of his armor-bearers. 22Then Saul sent word to Jesse, saying, “Allow David to remain in my service, for I am pleased with him.” 23Whenever the spirit from God came upon Saul, David would take his harp and play. Then relief would come to Saul; he would feel better, and the evil spirit would leave him.
